$10,000 Up for Grabs - and You’re Invited!

Do you believe youth have the answer to help lead change in their own school communities? We do! UnitedHealthcare and GENYOUth are teaming up to empower students to lead change in their schools and communities.

Students will work with mentors to design and pitch their BIG ideas for the chance to win funding and support to bring their ideas to life this school year!

Students do NOT need to come up with a full project idea prior to attending the event (in fact, it's not recommended due to the nature of the workshop), but we do recommend that groups start to think about current health/wellness challenges that exist in their school currently.

What: A FREE one day pitch-and-invest social entrepreneurship workshop to help make a difference in health and wellness
Who: A teacher and up to 5 students ages 13-17 from the same school
When & Where (9:30 AM - 3:00 PM):
  • February 28, 2019: Cleveland, OH (Case Western University, Linsalata Alumni Center) **This event date is FILLED. Please email Info@AdCapYOUth.org to be added to the waitlist*
  • March 5, 2019: Providence, RI (Rhode Island Convention Center)
  • March 7, 2019: Louisville, KY (University of Louisville, Burhans Hall)

Students Will…
  • Connect with mentors to learn about, design and pitch their BIG ideas to impact health and wellness
  • Develop leadership and social entrepreneurship skills
  • Be empowered to lead healthy change in school communities
  • Compete to win up to $1,000 for their school to implement their idea

Participation is FREE for schools but space is limited! Schools may bring a group of up to 5 students per school with 1 accompanying educator.

Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. We will reimburse for the cost of one substitute teacher for each school on the day of the event, as well as up to $100 for transportation per group.
